Vietnamese Coconut Varieties

Harvest and Processing
Vietnam’s coconut plantations are concentrated in Ben Tre, Tra Vinh, and Tien Giang, where fertile soil and tropical climate ensure excellent quality. Harvested coconuts are cleaned, sorted, and packed for export in different formats: whole green coconuts, semi-husked coconuts, or fully trimmed “diamond cut” coconuts.
For frozen coconut, only peeled/trimmed coconut (dừa gọt trọc) can be exported. After de-husking and shaping, the coconuts are quickly frozen to preserve natural water and flesh while extending shelf life. This format is convenient, hygienic, and ideal for horeca customers and supermarkets.
